About Us
Math Language began in 2016 when Melanie King noticed her daughter, Najja, had plateaued in math. Although Najja earned straight A's, her standardized test scores suggested she wasn't reaching her full potential. Melanie knew her daughter was capable of more, but traditional workbooks and tutoring didn't feel like the answer.
Over the next two years, Melanie researched and experimented with new ways to make mathematical ideas cleaner, more engaging, and easier to grasp. By focusing on reasoning instead of memorization, Najja's scores rose to the 99th percentile, and she entered Honors Algebra by fifth grade.
What began as a breakthrough at home quickly grew into a school program. Today, Math Language partners with schools and families to help students build deep mathematical understanding and confidence. We've guided hundreds of students toward mathematical excellence, combining research-backed pedagogy with the joy of discovery. Our math coaches are the ones students trust when concepts challenge them, the ones who celebrate their breakhroughs, and the experts parents turn to when excellence matters.
